Early in my journey, I grappled with co-dependency, that tricky space where the choices of others start affecting our happiness. Counselling was my turning point, revealing that I didn't have to bear the weight of everyone's decisions. It was a realization that their journey was theirs, not mine—a crucial step toward setting boundaries. 🛤️💪
My struggle with co-dependency was most intense within my immediate family. Saying 'no' and allowing them to navigate their path was my key to personal freedom. The process wasn't easy, especially when financial support was involved. Saying 'no' wasn't just liberating; it was a necessary step in safeguarding my dreams and well-being.🌟
Transitioning from family to friendships, I discuss the transformation of a vast circle of friends into a smaller, more authentic one. The lesson? Choosing authenticity over the need to please. The power of saying 'no' reverberates throughout the episode, urging you to consider what you might be sacrificing of yourself with every 'yes' to others. 🚫
